The quiet costal town is surrounded by national parks located north of Brisbane. This was the start of the second leg on our Loka trip where we joined by 7 new compatriots. We met one girl called ‘Koala’ who received the nickname for mostly sleeping for the first 3 weeks she was in Australia so people gave her the lovely name as they never spoke to her to get to know her real name.

We spent plenty of time at the beach as Noosa is nice but very quiet so there is not that much to do apart from relax and enjoy the surroundings. We plucked up the courage to swim a little further out this time in the sea as it did not feel as threatening in the middle of the day.

The walk through the national park next to the everglades was the highlight of being there. The pathway takes you along the coastline to the edge of the bay where we were lucky enough to see a stingray and dolphins.

For our night out, we went to Nomads for the best night of the week apparently on a Monday. Our evening started with the typical travelling bag of 4 litre Goon for $10. There was a group of 10 of us in one room playing ring of fire. After the circle was broken once or twice the affects took its toll and the slurring, screaming and shouting began. Now this was all well and good however there was a drinking ban in rooms so two security guards knocked on the door. There was no effort made to hide the tin foil sacks strung across the floor so we were BUSTED!

After having our medicine confiscated we headed down to the bar. To be fair the music wasn’t bad and we had jugs of fruit cocktails between us to keep our spirits up. However our night was cut to a dramatic end when the lights went up at 12:00am and the DJ signaled for everyone to leave. Not quite sure the best night in Noosa should end so early. The best part of the night was still to come; a few of the guys decided they wanted to get high but were unfortunately caught smoking and were asked to confiscate their joint after attempting to do a runner. I came back to the room to find them squabbling and a few of them paranoid about having their visas being taken off them. One of the lads even asked me to go to their room and pop my action camera around the door to check if the coast was all clear haha. They eventually all calmed down before calling it a night and woke up surprisingly fresh the next day for our trip to Fraser Island. On the way out we grabbed our goon bags from the naughty boy locker and off we went.
